About Us / Pension Plan
The IWA - Forest Industry Pension Trust and Plan was established in 1973 by an agreement between the I.W.A. and forest industry employers. The Plan pays pension benefits to vested retired members of contributing companies based on number of years of service in our Plan. There are currently about 437 companies participating and submitting contributions on behalf of approximately 21,000 members. The Plan is jointly funded by employers and members. The administration of the Plan is overseen by a Board of Trustees equally representing the United Steelworkers (formerly I.W.A. Canada) and forest industry employers.
